We would like to thank all of our many volunteers and staff for a job well done during the NCAA Tournament. Now that it is behind us and summer is here, it's time to get some other things done. We will be spraying out all the weeds and, after the member-guest, we will spray out the ryegrass on the tees and tee surrounds. Since the ryegrass is so week, we need to hang onto the rye until after the tournament in order to have a decent playing surface. Some other things in June that you can expect include slicing the fairways, aerifying and topdressing the tees, edging the cart paths and the renovation of #5 creekbank.
Since May was a fairly cool month, the bermuda grass has been slow to recover, and this is why the turf quality is so low on the driving range. As the temperature begins to increase, the bermuda grass will start to recover faster, and density will improve greatly.
